The church is dedicated to Saint John of Patmo
The construction date of the church remains unknown but it is estimated that the church was built in the 13 century. The church is built on the cliff above the fishing settlement Kaneo. The place above the church gives us the best view of the Ohrid lake. The name comes from the settlement where the church is built. In the past, Kaneo was a fishing settlement, and nowadays it is one of the most popular places in Ohrid, there are plenty of restaurants and apartments with a breathtaking view of the lake and the church.
